ā€œ "Thanks for the gear, Liam. And the drills, and the chance, you know... even if there really isn't one." ā€
ā€” Aaron about lacrosse training to Liam in Raw Talent

Aaron was a minor character who made his first appearance in the second half of Season 6. He was introduced as a freshman who was eager to make first line on the lacrosse team, and Liam Dunbar volunteered to help prepare him for try-outs with help from his friend Brett Talbot, a Devenford Prep lacrosse player.

However, his time as his true self on the series was cut short in the same episode he was introduced when the Anuk-ite's spiders, which were hiding in his lacrosse helmet, overtook his body and essentially flayed him, stealing his identity (including his DNA, his physical appearance, and his memories) so that he could integrate himself into Beacon Hills life and find his other half, all while inducing fear in those around him so he could feed on it and grow stronger.

From then on, all appearances of "Aaron" in the series were really the Anuk-ite using his form to incite strife between the human and supernatural communities of the town, though there was one instance in Face-to-Faceless when the Anuk-ite reanimated Aaron's flayed corpse with spiders and used it to increase the fear and panic felt by the members of the McCall Pack and Monroe's Army during Scott's attempt at coming to a truce. In fact, it was the residual aura of terror that surrounded Aaron's corpse that helped the McCall Pack and their allies figure out what creature with which they were dealing. That being said, Aaron was believed to be himself by all those around him until Genotype, when his role in stirring up fear in the school was discovered by Scott, Liam, Mason Hewitt, and Theo Raeken.

Aaron was a freshman at Beacon Hills High School and a prospective player on the Beacon Hills Cyclones lacrosse team.

Personality[]

Very little of Aaron's true personality was shown prior to his death and the theft of his identity by the Anuk-ite, but the short amount of time he had in the series, he came across as a kind and ambitious young man who was eager to prove himself. He seemed to admire Liam Dunbar for his skill at lacrosse and wanted to learn from him in hopes of making first line as a freshman as well, though he also seemed to have realistic expectations as to how try-outs would go.

Physical Appearance[]

Aaron was a young African-American teenager with medium-brown skin, a buzz-cut hairstyle, and dark brown eyes. He was tall and lean and dressed like a typical high school student in jeans, tshirts, and jackets. He was mostly seen in his workout clothes due to his intent to perform well at lacrosse tryouts.

Skills[]

Aaron presumably had some degree of athletic ability to want to join the lacrosse team in school.

Etymology[]

  • Aaron: Aaron is a Biblical name with unclear origins; some suggest it may have come from the ancient Egyptian aha rw, which means "warrior lion," or Aaru, the heavenly afterlife realm ruled by Osiris in ancient Egyptian religion, whereas others suggest it has Hebrew origins derived from roots meaning "high mountain," "mountain of strength," "exalted," "enlightened," or "bearer of martyrs." [2] In the Torah, Quran, and the Bah'ai Iqan, Aaron was the brother of Moses, who acted as a spokesman for his brother during their appeal to the pharaoh to release the Israelites from slavery.[3] The name could also be a variation of the Hebrew name Haran, which was the name of Abraham's older brother in the Biblical Book of Genesis. Due to these origins, it was initially a name used by Jews and early Christians before it became popular among Gentiles in the modern era.
    • Variations of the name in other languages include: Harun (Arabic, Bosnian, Turkish); Aharon (Biblical Hebrew); Aronne (Biblical Italian), Aron (Croatian, Danish, Hungarian, Icelandic, Norwegian, Polish, Swedish); Aaro (Finnish); Aronas (Lithuanian); AarĆ³n (Spanish); Haroon (Urdu), Harouna (Western African).

Appearances[]

Trivia[]

  • Aaron technically only appeared in two scenes in Season 6's Raw Talent before he was killed by the Anuk-ite; every other appearance he made in the series after he was eaten and flayed by the Anuk-ite's spiders was actually just half of the ancient shapeshifter itself, who had essentially stolen Aaron's identity and memories and was masquerading as the young human teenager while the Anuk-ite regained its strength and found its other half.
