Radio Silence is the fifth episode of Season 6, and the eighty-fifth episode of the series.

Synopsis[]

Trapped inside the Wild Hunt, Stiles reunites with an unexpected ally; Scott, Lydia and Malia learn that Stiles' Jeep may be connected to his disappearance.

Continuity[]

Kira Yukimura appeared in flashbacks in this episode. She was last seen in Season 5's Apotheosis.
Stiles Stilinski appeared in this episode. He was last seen in Season 6's Memory Lost.
Gwen appeared in the Phantom Train Station after having been taken and erased from reality in Relics.
Several people that Lydia Martin has seen in Banshee premonitions throughout the season thus far made appearances in this episode, where it was revealed that they, like Stiles and Peter, were captives of the Wild Hunt. These characters include:
- Trent, the teenage boy who Lydia Martin saw in the upstairs hallway at the Stilinski House in Relics, who tried to give her hints in her search for Stiles.
- Dr. Sandra Hugo, a doctor who Lydia saw in a premonition while in math class in Superposition, who looked at her in shock as a train passed by them.
- The elderly woman Lydia saw in her premonition at the Stilinski House in Sundowning, where she stated that all of the train stops had been cancelled.
It is revealed that Peter Hale was captured by the Ghost Riders after escaping Eichen House during the lockdown caused by the McCall Pack in Season 5B's Amplification and Lie Ability, when they were trying to get Lydia Martin out before she died from Gabriel Valack's trephination.
- This confirms the hypothesis made by Mason Hewitt in Relics, in which he theorized that the increase in lightning strikes during storms in Beacon Hills over the past three months indicated that the Ghost Riders had been in town at least that long.
Peter was shown scratching a spiral on the floor of his cell at Eichen House, a symbol of revenge that Peter has drawn throughout the series. Examples of Peter drawing spiral symbols are:
- Pre-series, when he burned a spiral on a deer corpse and spread news of the mutilation so that his Alpha niece, Laura Hale, would be drawn back to Beacon Hills where he could kill her and steal her power.
- Season 1's The Tell, when he painted a huge red spiral on the roof of the video store) that coincided with his murder of Levesque in the store.
- Season 1's Heart Monitor, when he scratched a spiral in the fog on Scott's driver's side window while he drove his mother's car.
- Season 3's Visionary, in the fog on the window at Derek's loft as he explained the meaning of the symbol to Stiles and Cora.
Stiles' Jeep, which was revealed to have been left behind by the Ghost Riders in Relics, made an appearance in this episode. This confirms Lydia's hypothesis about the Wild Hunt's invisibility powers are still subject to the physics concept "conservation of mass."
There were flashbacks to several previous episodes in Radio Silence:
- Season 1's Code Breaker, in which Scott McCall, Allison Argent, Stiles Stilinski, and Jackson Whittemore set Peter on fire before Derek Hale stole his Alpha powers and killed him.
- Season 4's Smoke and Mirrors, both the scene where Peter and Scott had a battle in La Iglesia and where Peter was locked up in Eichen House with Gabriel Valack afterward.
- Season 5's Amplification, when the lockdown caused Kira Yukimura and Malia Tate to fly backward after being shocked by the electrified door handle.
Stiles' key ring is shown to still have the green bottle opener on it that was first seen in Season 3B's Illuminated.
The town of Canaan is referenced in this episode as one of the stops of the Phantom Train Station. It was last referenced in Season 4's Orphaned, when Jordan Parrish stated that he had a friend from Canaan PD who told him that he helped Brunski after his BAC was found to be over the legal limit for alcoholic intoxication.
It was shown that Stiles continues to keep the lime-green bottle opener on his key chain when Peter steals his keys and brings them back to the real world. Stiles was first shown to have this bottle opener during the party at Derek's loft in Season 3B's Illuminated.
When Lydia, Malia, and Scott were in Stiles' Jeep, blood spatter could be seen from above the driver's side door up onto the ceiling of the interior. This blood spatter occurred in Season 5A's Strange Frequencies, when Stiles and Theo were on a stakeout outside the Beacon Hill Animal Clinic-- Jordan Parrish, in Hellhound-mode, arrived to take Josh Diaz's body to the Nemeton and punched Theo in the face with his flaming fist so hard that Theo spit a large amount of blood onto Stiles' face and the parts of the car behind him.

Trivia[]

The Phantom Train Station's number is said to currently be 137. It is unknown if this will change when the train moves from Beacon Hills to another town.
The names of at least some of the other cities the Ghost Riders will visit or have visited were revealed in this episode, including Anderson, Bannack, Batten, Baybury, Canaan, Deer Ridge, Hollantine, King Springs, Pripyat, Red Oak, Trenton
According to Peter Hale, the Ghost Riders will be forcibly recruiting all of their captured victims into their ranks, making them "doomed to ride the storm forever."
Aside from Stiles and Peter, Trent was the only person who seemed to be aware that something was wrong in the Phantom Train Station, though the reasoning for this is unknown.
It is revealed that the Stilinski House is located at 129 Woodbine Lane in Beacon Hills.
According to Claudia Stilinski, Stiles Stilinski's Jeep was stolen eighteen years ago. This suggests that the Jeep belonged to Claudia before Stiles inherited it upon earning his driver's license, a concept that is quite popular in "fanon" (a portmanteau of "fan" and "canon") created in the Teen Wolf fandom, such as fan fiction and headcanons.
It is revealed that both Malia Tate and Scott McCall had briefly forgotten about Peter Hale's existence until they saw him upon his return from the Phantom Train Station.
Peter's status is left unknown by the end of the episode after he was severely burned going through the portal of the Phantom Train Station.
Scott and Lydia Martin both are able to speak with Stiles in this episode through a radio, with Lydia remembering Stiles' last words to her in Memory Lost-- "Remember that I love you." The both of them also remember him better, but not fully, now that they have spoken to him.
