- SCOTT: [voiceover] Previously, on Teen Wolf...
- STILINSKI: It's Quinn, right?
- SCOTT: She's a Werewolf.
- MALIA: Who did this to you?
- QUINN: A deputy...
- MALIA: Why are there two of these bodies?
- LYDIA: Because the Anuk-ite has two faces.
- THEO: Why'd you hide these bodies?
- GABE: I was just helping Aaron-- it was his idea to test everyone to see if they were Werewolves.
- LIAM: He wanted to find his other half.
- THEO: He's the Anuk-ite.
BEACON HILLS ANIMAL CLINIC[]
[Scott, Liam, Mason, and Theo are in the reception area of the clinic, where they are listening to a voicemail left on a small flip-phone that Scott, Malia, and Lydia found on the flayed corpse's body at the Primal's lair the previous evening. The caller is a female whose voice is familiar but generic enough to where no one can identify her]
- FEMALE VOICE: [voiceover] Hey, it's me again. I, uh, don't know why you can't seem to call me back. Maybe it's because you think you're punishing me. But, this is too long. It-it's too much. It's not about us. Something's happening in Beacon Hills, to the people here. I just... I just, I need to know everyone there with you is okay. So, can you just please, please call me. Please? One call. That's all I'm asking for. And, if you can't call me back, then I'm going to get my answer anyway. That means I'm coming up there myself if I don't get a call from you. I'm coming up there. So, just try... try to remember... it's my pack, too.
[When a beep is heard to indicate the end of the message, Scott walks over to where the phone was set on the desk and flips it closed before looking at Liam, Mason, and Theo; the former two are sitting on the nearby desk, while Theo leans against the door frame and looks out the foggy glass entrance. After a moment, Theo turns to face the others]
- THEO: You pulled this off of one of the bodies in the woods?
- LIAM: Malia did.
- SCOTT: Yeah, there's six dead bodies. One of them had no face.
[Theo's expression is one of intense concentration as he walks over to join them behind the reception desk]
- THEO: Okay, so the one with no face-- do you think that's the woman on the phone?
[Scott sighs and shrugs, looking torn]
- SCOTT: Maybe...
- MASON: It's the same thing that happened to Aaron. It took over his body, basically stole his face and his DNA. So, that means whoever this woman is, she could be the other half of the Anuk-ite.
- THEO: Which means she's just half of the problem. The other half, we already know about.
[Theo gestures to Liam to emphasize his point]
- THEO: Aaron.
- LIAM: We don't know where he is, though.
- THEO: Okay, hold on. Aren't we supposed to keep both halves apart? We know about one half. Let's just go for that one! That's Aaron.
- MASON: [sighs] I'm not agreeing with Theo, but... I do think it would be easier to track down Aaron over a voice on the phone...
[Liam makes a face and waggles his finger at Mason]'
- LIAM: That's agreeing with Theo.
- MASON: [groans] Yeah, but I thought I'd try to soften the blow a little bit.
[Theo sighs and rolls his eyes in Mason's direction before speaking up in an offended tone of voice]
- THEO: Is everyone completely shocked that I might be right?
[Liam grits his teeth and rolls his eyes]
- LIAM: No. We just don't like it.
[Liam makes a face and turns to Scott in hopes that he will agree with him. However, Scott takes a different tactic]
- SCOTT: Maybe we're all right. Maybe we should be looking for both-- Aaron and the woman on the phone.
[Scott stares at both Mason and Theo]
- SCOTT: And, since you both agree...
[Mason immediately hates the sound of this suggestion]
- MASON: Wait, you mean me--
[Theo, thinking the same thing, finishes his sentence]
- THEO: --And him?
[Scott nods in confirmation]
- SCOTT: Yeah. You two find Aaron.
[Scott picks up the phone and holds it up for emphasis]
- SCOTT: Liam and I will to figure out whose voice is on the phone.
[Liam takes the phone from Scott's hand and examines it]
- LIAM: If we find the other half, maybe we don't have to fight at all. We stop the Anuk-ite--
[Scott eagerly finishes Liam's sentence]
- SCOTT: --We stop the war.
BEACON HILLS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL[]
[Malia and Lydia have just arrived at the hospital morgue, where they have opened the cubby that contains Halwyn's body in a black body bag. He looks just as he did when he was shot and killed by Monroe-- a large bullet wound is in the center of his head, and his chest is covered in claw gashes from his battle with Liam in Said the Spider to the Fly]
- MALIA: Well, it's still here. Still dead. What else were we supposed to do?
- LYDIA: Figure out how a Hellhound led me into the woods to find another faceless body while being technically dead.
- MALIA: Technically?
- LYDIA: I don't think I would have been led out there if he was fully dead.
- MALIA: I don't think we should be hanging out here waiting for him to spring back to life.
- LYDIA: We don't have to wait if we can figure out how he was able to reach me.
- MALIA: How do we do that?
[Lydia looks down at Halwyn's face with a matter-of-fact expression]
- LYDIA: I'm just going to have to ask him.
[The camera zooms in on the bullet wound in Halwyn's forehead, journeying inside of it to reveal Monroe's bullet inside his brain. His brain tissue is glowing an orange-gold color where it is touching the bullet, implying that his neurons are still firing somewhat. There are also small silver fragments around the wound]
TITLE CARD & OPENING CREDITS
UNDERGROUND TUNNELS[]
[Mason, carrying the baseball bat Stiles gave him (which still has Halwyn's melted hand prints at the top), climbs inside the sewer gate and makes his descent down into the underground tunnels as he bickers with Theo, who is waiting for him at the bottom]
- MASON: That's a pretty egotistical thing to say, don't you think? You'd never be able to find Aaron on your own. You're not smart enough.
[Theo's expression makes it clear he is not at all amused at Mason casting aspersions on his intelligence]
- THEO: So, if you found him, what were you gonna do? Beat him up with you AP Calculus book?
[Mason holds up his baseball bat]
- MASON: I can be resourceful.
[Theo rolls his eyes before lashing out and smacking the bat out of Mason's hands. The bat falls to the ground with a clanging sound as Mason looks at Theo with an expression that is both embarrassed and exasperated]
- MASON: Was that necessary?
[Instead of waiting for an answer, Mason walks past Theo so he can pick up his bat before the two make their way down the tunnel]
- THEO: Okay, so you're the smart one. Why are we down here? Shouldn't we be looking around the school, or somewhere with better lighting?
- MASON: [scoffs] Aaron hasn't been in class in days.
[Mason takes a deep breath and exhales before he continues]
- MASON: The last sighting of the Faceless was in the tunnels. Parrish burned the body, but, you know, none of us have ever been back down here to check.
- THEO: Why not?
[Mason stops in his tracks, indicating that the fear aura put out by the Anuk-ite has just now reached him as he anxiously grips the bat in his hands]
- MASON: Because we're scared. We're all scared to come back down here. You feel it, right? It's like it doesn't want us here.
- THEO: That makes two of us.
[Theo rolls his eyes as he walks around Mason and starts to lead him down the tunnel, as though he's unimpressed by Mason's fear. However, he only makes it a few steps further before the fear aura starts to affect him as well]
- MASON: You're afraid. That's the exact reason why we should be looking down here. I feel it, too.
[Mason continues pushing on, and Theo sighs and composes himself before following after him. They walk in silence until they make it to a fork in the tunnels, where they stop and appraise their options]
- MASON: [sighs] Okay-- nice and bright, or dark and spooky...
[When Mason doesn't get an answer he turns to head to the right side of the fork, which is the brighter and more inviting of the two. However, Theo reaches out and grabs him by the shoulder to stop him]
- THEO: You're right. We need to follow our fear.
[Theo lets go of him and starts wandering through the left side of the fork, where it is dark and wet. He turns around when he sees a panicked Mason trying to psych himself into following him and raises his arms wide]
- THEO: Hey, it was your idea.
[Mason bounces on the balls of his feet for a moment, clutching his bat tightly before forcing himself to follow Theo down the dark hall]
BEACON HILLS ANIMAL CLINIC[]
[Scott and Liam are in the clinic's exam room, where they're watching the flip phone found at the Primal's lair spin in front of them on the table. After a moment, Scott puts his hand on the phone to stop it from spinning before beginning to pace back and forth. Liam runs his hand through his hair and sighs as though he's bracing himself when he picks up the phone and flips it open to dial the number. Scott looks surprised and snaps the phone shut before anyone can pick up]
- SCOTT: Do you even know what you're gonna say?
[Liam looks at Scott as though the answer to his question should be obvious]
- LIAM: "Hello?"
- SCOTT: We might only get one shot at this. What are you gonna tell her?
- LIAM: I'm gonna try to get her to meet us somewhere.
- SCOTT: Maybe that might not be the best idea.
- LIAM: Why? Then we'll know who they are.
- SCOTT: And they'll know who we are.
[Before the two can debate this further, the phone begins to ring in Scott's hand, and the two look panicked by this turn of events]
- LIAM: Answer it.
[Scott looks alarmed by the suggestion]
- SCOTT: You're the one who wanted to make the call. You take it.
[Liam takes the phone from Scott but hesitates a moment too long, causing the call to go to voicemail. After taking a deep breath, Liam redials the number, putting the call on speaker before setting it on the exam table. Scott and Liam lean in close to listen for whomever answers the phone]
- RECEPTIONIST: Beacon Hills High School, how can I--
[Shocked, Liam snaps the phone shut and looks at Scott with a wide-eyed expression]
- LIAM: It's someone at school.
- SCOTT: We might know who they are.
[Just then, something about this case triggers something in Liam's memory, and he quickly thumbs through the phone options before putting on the voicemail they listened to earlier. Liam walks away from Scott as he listens to it, leaving Scott looking confused in the background]
- FEMALE VOICE: [voiceover] Hey, it's me again. I, uh, don't know why you can't seem to call me back. Maybe it's because you think you're punishing me. But this is too long. It's too much. And it's not about us... Something's happening in Beacon Hills, to the people here...
[Scott, not knowing where Liam is going with this, tries to get his Beta's attention]
- SCOTT: Liam...
[The sound of his name triggers a memory in Liam's mind]
FLASHBACKāSOME TIME EARLIER
[Liam is seen sleeping in biology class, where his teacher calls out his name to awaken him]
- MRS. FINCH: Liam?
[In another flashback, Liam is working with an unknown blonde female classmate when the same teacher calls out his name]
- MRS. FINCH: Liam?
[In a third flashback, Liam is smiling and texting someone on his phone when the teacher shouts his name and snatches the phone out of his hand]
- MRS. FINCH: Liam!!!
END FLASHBACK
PRESENT DAY
[Liam's eyes widen in realization as he snaps the phone shut and turns to face Scott]
- LIAM: I think I know who it is.
BEACON HILLS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL[]
[In the hospital morgue, Lydia is laying still on a steel autopsy table with her eyes closed and her hands folded over her abdomen. Her head is inches away from Halwyn's in his autopsy cubby. After a moment, Malia, who was crouched down next to the tables, peeks her head up by Lydia and Halwyn's heads and whispers to Lydia]
- MALIA: Anything yet?
[Lydia's eyes fly open, and she rolls them irritably before she responds in a terse tone of voice]
- LYDIA: As opposed to when you asked three minutes ago? No.
[After a moment, Lydia groans and stands to her feet]
- LYDIA: Ugh. It's not working.
[Lydia walks over to where Malia is standing and rolls out a kink in her neck as she thinks about what to do next]
- MALIA: Maybe you should touch him?
[Lydia scoffs and rolls her eyes again]
- LYDIA: That's ridiculous. There's no way--
[Before Lydia can react further, Malia grabs her right hand and plants it on Halwyn's arm]
- MALIA: Anything?
[Lydia makes a face, clearly not happy about touching a corpse]
- LYDIA: Nothing.
[Malia grabs Lydia's hand and places it on Halwyn's clawed-up chest, underneath the body bag of which he is still laying inside]
- MALIA: What about now?
[Lydia whimpers, clearly grossed out, and rolls her neck as Malia holds her hand down]
- LYDIA: Nope.
[Malia takes Lydia's hand and places it on Halwyn's chin this time, much to Lydia's exasperation]
- MALIA: Now?
[Lydia, who has clearly had enough, yanks her hand away from Halwyn and Malia and gives her a look]
- LYDIA: Okay, stop.
[Malia makes an equally grossed-out face as she gently turns Halwyn's head to the left, exposing the back of his neck to them. She then looks at Lydia to see if she supports the idea of using the memory manipulation ritual]
- MALIA: I could try it...?
[Lydia shakes her head in the negatory]
- LYDIA: You could damage his brain, maybe even more than that bullet already has.
[Malia looks relieved by this answer and gingerly returns Halwyn to the prone position before beginning to pace around the room]
- MALIA: How did it work last time?
- LYDIA: Last time, I was unconscious.
- MALIA: Unconscious...
[Malia looks around the room, eventually finding a large steel surgical hammer and smiling in relief]
- MALIA: Okay, we can work with that!
BEACON HILLS HIGH SCHOOL[]
[Mrs. Finch has just stepped out of her car in the school parking lot and smiles as she feels the sun on her skin and walks into the school. Meanwhile, Scott and Liam are in Stiles' Jeep, where they watch her walk away. Scott then gestures toward her with his head as he looks to Liam for confirmation]
- SCOTT: Mrs. Finch? You're sure?
- LIAM: [nods] It was her on the phone.
[Scott sighs and thinks for a moment before he speaks]
- SCOTT: Okay, well, that still doesn't prove that she's the Anuk-ite, or even that she's one of us.
[Liam shakes his head in disbelief]
- LIAM: It was still her.
[Scott looks out the driver side window of the Jeep and watches Mrs. Finch as she walks into the school with several other teachers]
- SCOTT: Okay. Well, we need to get closer. See if we can get her to expose her supernatural side.
- LIAM: How are we gonna do that?
[Scott takes a deep breath, knowing that Liam is not going to be happy about his answer]
- SCOTT: You're gonna do it.
[Liam, appalled, looks at Scott as though he's crazy]
- LIAM: Well, what about the Hunters and the Nazi student brigade?
- SCOTT: Yeah, I'll be right there with you. Just get close, find out, and get out.
[Liam seems to know that Scott is right, but he still pouts about it anyway]
- LIAM: But I hate biology.
[Inside the school, Liam has just sat down at one of the benches at the front of the classroom, though Mrs. Finch doesn't initially see him due to being distracted with writing the lesson on the chalkboard. Liam becomes tense when Gabe purposely sits down next to him and smirks in satisfaction]
- GABE: Welcome back.
- MRS. FINCH: Phones away, everyone, and settle down. We have a long way to go to get through the day.
[The camera briefly cuts to the open door to the laboratory, where Scott can be seen hunched around the corner in the hallway next to a vending machine in case Liam needs back-up]
[Back inside the classroom, Mrs. Finch, who has just finished adding genetics illustrations on the board, turns to face the class]
- MRS. FINCH: We'll start first with...
[Mrs. Finch is shocked to see Liam sitting next to Gabe at the middle front table. She immediately gets an ashamed and guilty look on her face]
- MRS. FINCH: ...Liam. I didn't think we'd be seeing you again.
[Despite Liam's best efforts to control himself, he can't help but let some of his attitude slip out as he shrugs]
- LIAM: Can't let my GPA go down just 'cause I got beat up in class.
- MRS. FINCH: Yes. Well, I...
[Gabe attempts to text Monroe to let her know that Liam is in class, and when Mrs. Finch sees him with his phone out, she takes advantage of the opportunity to change the subject]
- MRS. FINCH: Gabe, I said no phones.
[Mrs. Finch snatches the phone out of his hands and sets it on her desk before returning to the lesson]
- MRS. FINCH: Okay, let's get started. Okay, so when two people come together, we have a variety of possibilities. And how do we determine the probability of an offspring having a particular trait?
[As she talks and writes on the board, Liam reaches into his pocket and pulls out an ear plug, which he puts in his left ear before pulling out one of Argent's ultra-sonic emitter from his bag and hitting the button on the top]
- MRS. FINCH: We're talking about, like, your eye and hair color, or, uh, if you you have an extra digit, your hearing...
[Just then, one of the girls sitting behind Sydney clutches her ears and goes running out of the class, indicating that she's a shapeshifter. Out in the hall, Scott, who is covering his own ears, watches as the girl continues to run down the hall away from the noise]
[Back inside the class, Mrs. Finch turns away from the chalkboard and frowns when she sees the open chair]
- MRS. FINCH: Where did Rebecca go?
[Liam, annoyed by the lack of response, sighs and turns the emitter off before putting it back into his bag. Out in the hall, Scott whispers to Liam quietly]
- SCOTT: [whispers] Anything?
[Liam pretends to scratch his nose in hopes of covering up the sound of his response]
- LIAM: No. No reaction at all.
[Just then, Scott sees a man outside the hallway windows who appears to be holding a shotgun of some sort. Alarmed, he once again whispers to Liam from outside of the class]
- SCOTT: Liam?
[Liam rolls his eyes in annoyance, not wanting anyone to catch on to what he's doing]
- LIAM: What?
[Gabe is very clearly paying attention to what Liam is doing while Mrs. Finch continues on with the class]
- MRS. FINCH: Three volunteers, please?
[Gabe raises his hand and goes up to the chalkboard for one of the genetics problems while Scott, outside, begins to panic that Hunters have arrived at the school]
- SCOTT: Did Gabe get a text out?
- LIAM: [gruffly] I don't know.
[Liam stands to his feet and goes up to the board as well to distract everyone from his muttering. He then chooses the far left problem and shoulder-checks Gabe out of his way, much to Gabe's annoyance]
[Out in the hallway, Scott ducks behind the staircase, frowning in concern as he watches the mysterious person rattle the locked door to the school. When the man finally unlocks it, Scott lunges toward the door, only to find that it is a now-alarmed maintenance man there to repair the school; what Scott believed was a shotgun is actually a level and toolbox. Scott gives the man an apologetic look as he walks away, just before once again whispering to Liam inside the classroom and retaking his position behind the corner]
- SCOTT: Hey, Liam? You better hurry up. I think we're running out of chances.
[Liam, still at the chalkboard and not paying any attention whatsoever to what he's writing, looks back at Mrs. Finch, who is working with Sydney at her desk, with an awkward expression. He slowly reaches into his pocket and pulls out a paper packet full of powdered wolfsbane, which he pours onto the chalkboard eraser. Just then, Mrs. Finch finishes helping Sydney with her assignment and calls out to Liam]
- MRS. FINCH: Liam, that's not even remotely close. Why don't you have a seat, and let's try this again.
[Liam carefully lays the eraser down at the bottom of the chalkboard, and Gabe, who has been watching Liam out of the corner of his eye, smirks as he realizes what he's doing. Liam takes his seat without a word as Mrs. Finch walks to the chalkboard and begins to erase his work with the eraser he just covered in wolfsbane, stirring up a cloud of it in front of her that she begins to inhale it. Liam watches her closely and seems to believe it is having an effect on her when suddenly, she sneezes with such force that the chalk dust and purple powder flies everywhere. Outside in the hallway, Scott, realizing she didn't react as a Werewolf normally would, sighs and closes his eyes]
[Inside the classroom, Mrs. Finch then sniffles and rolls her eyes as she mutters under her breath]
- MRS. FINCH: You'd think I'd be used to that after twenty years...
[Mrs. Finch goes to brush off the chalk dust on her blouse and immediately freezes when she sees the wolfsbane powder on her as well]
- MRS. FINCH: Uh...
[Mrs. Finch touches the wolfsbane on her shirt and rubs it between her fingers for a moment as she realizes what is going on. Her demeanor becomes cold and emotionless as she responds to it without even turning to face the class]
- MRS. FINCH: That's it for today. Class dismissed.
[The students look at each other, both confused and happy to get out of class early. Gabe launches himself to his feet, grabs his phone, and rushes out the door with the other students. Mrs. Finch is still facing the chalkboard, but seems to be able to sense Liam hesitantly gathering his books to leave without making eye contact with him]
- MRS. FINCH: Not you, Liam. You stay put.
BEACON HILLS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL[]
[Malia has just picked up the surgical steel hammer in the morgue and has banged it against the autopsy exam table to emphasize her point after explaining her idea]
- MALIA: See? It will be quick!
[Lydia, who is sitting in the desk chair, looks at Malia as though she thinks she's lost her mind and shakes her head in refusal]
- LYDIA: No. Mmm-mmm. Not like that.
[Malia looks at Lydia with a confused frown]
- MALIA: You want me to knock you out, right?
[Lydia enunciates her next words carefully to better emphasize her point]
- LYDIA: Render unconscious.
[Lydia claps her hands and stands to her feet so she can walk toward Malia]
- LYDIA: Preferably without pain.
[Lydia sighs and looks down at Halwyn's motionless body for a moment before she finally gets an idea]
- LYDIA: Okay, this is what we're gonna do. You're going to press against my chest-- hard-- constricting the flow of blood and oxygen to my brain. It'll drop my blood pressure and render me unconscious.
[Malia looks at Lydia with exasperation]
- MALIA: That sounds totally unsafe.
[Lydia nods in agreement]
- LYDIA: Oh, extremely.
- MALIA: [hesitantly] Are you sure?
[Lydia sighs and closes his eyes for a moment, clearly conflicted about this plan]
- LYDIA: No. But let's go.
[Lydia clears her throat and takes several deep breaths to psychologically prepare herself for what they're planning to do. She flattens her back against the wall behind her as Malia stands in front of her best friend and places her hands on each of her collarbones. She presses against Lydia, interlocking her thumbs to put pressure on her chest, causing Lydia to gasp for breath as though she were being choked. Lydia clutches Malia's wrists, and it's clear by the look on Malia's face that she does not like hurting her friend this way]
[After a long moment, Lydia loses consciousness, and Malia gently lowers her to the floor as the scene goes black]
LYDIA'S MINDSCAPE[]
[Just before Lydia opens her eyes, she seems to believe that she is still conscious]
- LYDIA: I don't think that...
[When Lydia finally opens her eyes, she finds herself kneeling on the floor in the hallway of Eichen House, just a meter or two away from Halwyn's cell in the closed unit]
- LYDIA: ...Worked.
[As she looks down the hall, the walls begin dripping with melted silver as a fire burns inside of Halywn's cell]
BEACON HILLS HIGH SCHOOL[]
[Mrs. Finch has just set the wolfsbane-coated chalkboard eraser down and has now turned to face Liam]
- MRS. FINCH: I get it. I know what you're trying to do.
- LIAM: You do?
[Mrs. Finch shrugs as she walks toward Liam]
- MRS. FINCH: You're upset and you wanna get back at me.
[Liam frowns in confusion]
- LIAM: Upset?
- MRS. FINCH: Because I stood by and did nothing for what Gabe and Nolan did to you. I'm your teacher and I should have protected you.
[Liam is taken aback by this unexpected response]
- LIAM: No!
[Liam considers her words and begins to backtrack slightly]
- LIAM: No. I mean, yeah... But no, that's not why I'm here. I know about your pack.
[Mrs. Finch plays it very cool and maintains her human identity]
- MRS. FINCH: My what?
[Liam impatiently begins to argue with his teacher]
- LIAM: I know what you are.
- MRS. FINCH: Liam, I...
[Mrs. Finch holds firm against his arguments]
- LIAM: You're a Werewolf.
[Mrs. Finch laughs incredulously]
- MRS. FINCH: A what?
- LIAM: [confused] A person who turns into a wolf on a full moon...?
- MRS. FINCH: [nervously] Oh, God. Yeah, right. And I can probably only be killed by a silver bullet...
[Liam frowns, becoming somewhat serious]
- LIAM: No. No, that's not totally true.
- MRS. FINCH: [concerned] Are you on drugs?
[Liam is surprised by this response]
- LIAM: Huh?
- MRS. FINCH: Well, I know your father's a surgeon at the hospital...
- LIAM: No, I'm not on drugs! Mrs. Finch, you're a Werewolf.
- MRS. FINCH: Hydrocodone?
- LIAM: You have a pack.
- MRS. FINCH: Oxycodone?
- LIAM: You said it on the phone.
[Mrs. Finch, having expended all of her patience, cuts him off with a harsh tone of voice]
- MRS. FINCH: That's enough.
[Liam is visibly frustrated by this conversation]
- LIAM: You can't hide what you are!
[Mrs. Finch begins to lose her temper and decides to end the conversation]
- MRS. FINCH: I don't know what you're talking about, but you really need to go. Now.
[Liam stands his ground and remains motionless as Mrs. Finch roughly points her finger at the door]
- MRS. FINCH: You need to leave this classroom right now. You have to leave my class. Go!
[Suddenly, Mrs. Finch's voice on the cell phone's voicemail is heard as Scott silently walks into the room behind Liam, playing the message on speaker. She's shocked when she hears her own voice being played]
- MRS. FINCH: [voiceover] Hey, it's me again. I, uh, don't know why you can't seem to call me back. Maybe it's because you think you're punishing me. But, this is too long. It-it's too much. It's not about us.
[Mrs. Finch, stunned, walks toward Scott as he continues to hold out the flip-phone they found]
- MRS. FINCH: [voiceover] Something's happening in Beacon Hills, to the people here. I just...
[At her wit's end, Mrs. Finch snatches the phone out of Scott's hand and slams it shut before speaking in a demanding tone of voice]
- MRS. FINCH: Where did you find this?
[Scott looks at her in surprise]
LYDIA'S MINDSCAPE[]
[Lydia, still unconscious, remains in the hallway of the closed unit of Eichen House, where she smoothly moves down the hallway, turning when she reaches Halwyn's cell. She looks through the foggy window on the door, which is glowing with orange light. Inside, Halwyn, in his fossilized volcanic ash form, is suddenly surrounded by a cloud of cold air from the freezer components]
[However, the cold is no match for Halwyn's thermokinetic and pyrokinetic powers, and he bursts out of his rock shell with such force that the pieces explode, scaring Lydia to the point where she ducks and covers her ears to protect herself from the blast. Once the dust settles, Lydia rises back to full height and looks back into the window, where she is shocked to see Halwyn, with his claws and fangs out, roaring in front of the door and slamming against it with his hands]
[Halwyn is suddenly pulled back into the cold fog by an invisible force, confusing Lydia, who is having difficulty keeping her eyes open due to the bright light emitting from his body. Lydia walks toward the door, bracing herself against it with her hands, just as Halwyn (still covered in the claw gashes from his battle with Liam in Said the Spider to the Fly and with the bullet wound in his forehead from being shot by Monroe in the same episode) begins bashing his head against the window]
[Confused, Lydia watches with concern as Halwyn once again backs away from the door, taking deep breaths as the cloud of cold fog is sucked back into the components. The lock on the outside of the door is unlocked by an invisible force, and the door slowly cracks open. Lydia's jaw drops in shock as she reaches out her hand toward Halwyn, only for him to launch himself toward her, holding onto her protectively as the two embrace and fly through the cement wall behind them, as though they had phased through it]
BEACON HILLS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL[]
[Suddenly, Lydia awakens with a loud rasping gasp and immediately speaks to a very worried-looking Malia, who is kneeling in front of her and who wastes no time helping Lydia stand to her feet]
- LYDIA: He's not dead!
[Lydia pauses briefly to catch her breath before she continues]
- LYDIA: Halwyn's not dead...
[Lydia leans on the autopsy table for support as she looks down at Halwyn's motionless body]
- LYDIA: And I know how to save him.
BEACON HILLS HIGH SCHOOL[]
[Mrs. Finch is still standing between Liam and Scott in her biology classroom, where she continues to pretend as though he has no idea what they are talking about]
- MRS. FINCH: [flustered] I told you, I don't know what the Primal is. I don't know what an Anuk-a-whatever is.
[Mrs. Finch turns to face Scott as she holds up the phone in her hand]
- MRS. FINCH: I-I was just trying to call my daughter. Where did you get this?
[Scott's head cocks to the side as he tries to figure out Mrs. Finch's motivation. Meanwhile, Liam has only become more frustrated by Mrs. Finch's commitment to her lies and is starting to lose his patience]
- LIAM: You said you were in a pack. That was you on the phone. That's what you said.
[Mrs. Finch, frustrated herself and tired of the questions Scott and Liam are asking, becomes hysterical as she tries her best to get them to answer her own questions]
- MRS. FINCH: And I don't know what business it is of yours, my personal life! I am the teacher, you are the students. I don't go digging into your personal life outside of these walls, you shouldn't be digging into mine!
[Scott, confused by this reaction, narrows his eyes and thinks for a moment before asking another question]
- SCOTT: Did you reach any of them before they died?
- MRS. FINCH: [stunned] What...? What are you talking about...?
[Scott watches Mrs. Finch carefully to determine whether or not she is telling the truth, but when her eyes widen in shock, Scott becomes horrified and realizes she doesn't yet know what happened in the Primal's lair]
- SCOTT: Mrs. Finch, I'm sorry... But your family, they were attacked... and they're dead.
[Mrs. Finch, devastated, begins shaking her head in denial and arguing in a soft voice as tears fill her eyes. It's obvious that both Scott and Liam are emotional as well from the conversation]
- MRS. FINCH: Dead? They... No, they can't be dead, because... They were just, they were... They were in the woods. They were just-they were just hiding out. They were scared.
- SCOTT: We found that phone on a body. There were three men, two boys...
[Mrs. Finch's eyes widen in alarm at this news]
- MRS. FINCH: What about my daughter?
[Scott gulps anxiously, knowing that the rest of the story will not be easy to tell]
- SCOTT: Well, there was another body, but, uh...
[Mrs. Finch closes her eyes and takes a deep breath before looking at Scott once again]
- MRS. FINCH: But what?
- SCOTT: We couldn't identify it. The skin was stripped down to the muscle. There was no DNA. The pack tattoo was still there...
[Mrs. Finch, still in denial, throws up her hands and begins arguing once again]
- MRS. FINCH: Okay, sorry, but this... Um... No, this doesn't make sense. I mean, this isn't how biology works.
- LIAM: That's what the Anuk-ite does-- it finds a body, and it takes its face. It takes the whole identity of that person.
- MRS. FINCH: [tearfully] Not my daughter. No, not my daughter.
[Mrs. Finch, trying her best not to cry, sits on the top of her desk as though all of the energy has bled out of her. Liam moves so that he is standing in front of Scott with his back to him, looking at Mrs. Finch with a sympathetic expression]
- LIAM: There's a way to find out.
BEACON HILLS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL[]
[Two people in navy blue scrubs are wheeling a patient on a gurney into the radiology wing. When they make it into the room where the MRI machine is located, they remove their masks and caps to reveal that it is Malia and Lydia, undercover as nurses, with Halwyn's body on the stretcher. In the background, doctors are being paged to various departments]
- FEMALE NURSE: [on PA system] Paging Dr. Bender. Paging Dr. Bender, please.
[Malia sighs a breath of relief when the three make it into the MRI room without any issues]
- LYDIA: Step one, complete.
- MALIA: Now, how do we turn this thing on?
[Lydia pulls out her phone and holds it out so that Malia can see the screen, which reads "MRI Technical Operations Manual"]
- LYDIA: We read the manual.
[The scene cuts to inside of the observation room, where Lydia has typed something into the computer. Malia watches over Lydia's shoulder as she uses the controls to put Halwyn's body into the MRI machine. After a moment, imaging of his brain comes up on the screen, which Lydia uses to show Malia the bullet]
- LYDIA: Look-- see that image artifacting? That means the bullet is ferromagnetic. Probably steel. It'll react in the MRI. We'll increase the magnet's power, and the machine will pull the bullet right out.
[Lydia takes a deep breath before turning to look Malia in the eyes]
- LYDIA: Ready? It could get messy.
- MALIA: I've seen messy. Go for it.
[Lydia extends her index finger and is about to hit the start button when she suddenly notices something on the screen that causes her to frown and stop what she's doing]
- LYDIA: We can't do this.
- MALIA: What are you talking about?
- LYDIA: The bullet-- it's not just steel.
[Lydia points at one of the images on the screen]
- LYDIA: See those fragments around it? That's silver. The bullet was coated with it. Silver won't react in the MRI. We pull that bullet out, and he'll start to heal.
- MALIA: Healing is good!
- LYDIA: But he's a Hellhound. He'll heat up. When he does, that silver is going to melt and seep right into his brain.
- MALIA: So, what's a little silver?
- LYDIA: Argyria. Silver poisoning. And we have no way of getting it out.
[Malia looks at Halwyn with a defeated expression]
- MALIA: So, if we take out the bullets, he dies again...
BEACON HILLS HIGH SCHOOL[]
[Scott, Liam, and Mrs. Finch are still in the latter's classroom, where the two teens are trying to convince Mrs. Finch to go with their plan]
- MRS. FINCH: I won't do that.
- LIAM: Just call her and tell her not to go anywhere near the school. Tell her that there's someone or something hunting for someone like her.
- MRS. FINCH: You have to stop talking about this...
[Seeing Liam's lack of success, Scott steps toward them]
- SCOTT: If she shows up, at least you'll know what happened to your family-- what happened to your daughter.
[Mrs. Finch's eyes fill with tears once again as she shakes her head in denial, causing Liam, who looks extremely saddened by this situation, to offer his help]
- LIAM: I'll do it for you.
[Mrs. Finch gives him a questioning look, and when he gulps and nods in confirmation, Mrs. Finch shakily opens the flip phone and scrolls through the contacts until her daughter's number comes up. She then hands the phone to Liam, squeezing his wrist for comfort before standing to her feet to pace around. Liam looks down at the open phone in his hand and is shocked when he sees the contact name]
- LIAM: That's her name? That's your daughter's name?
- MRS. FINCH: [nods] Quinn. My daughter's name is Quinn.
[Scott and Liam are stunned to learn that Mrs. Finch is the mother of Quinn, the Werewolf the McCall Pack had encountered after she was shot in the head by Deputy Vargas, a Sheriff's deputy who is secretly in Monroe's Army]
BEACON HILLS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL[]
[Malia is anxiously looking out of the small window in the door to the MRI room to ensure that there is no one coming who could blow their cover. After a moment of seeing nothing, she returns to the observation room with Lydia, who is clearly conflicted by their dilemma]
- LYDIA: There has to be another way.
- MALIA: Yeah... If we had more time, I'm sure we could figure something out, but we don't. Someone is gonna come through that door any second now and bust us. Our last shot at figuring out how to beat the Anuk-ite might be laying on that table, so we need to make a decision right now.
[Lydia rolls her eyes and gives Malia an exhausted but exasperated look]
- LYDIA: You don't mean "decide"-- you mean "do it."
[Lydia brushes past her and begins pacing as they continue to debate their options]
- MALIA: Yeah, I think it's the right decision. If it were Parrish, he'd want us to do it. He would sacrifice himself for everyone in Beacon Hills.
- LYDIA: But Parrish would be able to make the decision himself! We don't know what Halwyn would do.
[Malia thinks for a brief moment and shrugs as she makes her case]
- MALIA: We kind of do. He built Eichen. He froze himself for years so that he could be ready to fight the Anuk-ite. The first thing he does when he's unfrozen is start hunting the thing. If that's the only thing he's ever cared about... Then he'd want us to do this.
[Lydia sighs, knowing Malia is right, and walks toward her. She hesitates as she reaches to place her fingertips on the sliding switches for the magnetic component, eventually getting the nerve to slide them up all the way to increase the magnetism and remove the bullet]
UNDERGROUND TUNNELS[]
[Theo and Mason are still down in the tunnels, looking for clues as to the Anuk-ite's other half's identity. Their time together has made both of them irritable and tired as they continue to bicker with each other]
- THEO: These tunnels go on forever, and we've been down here for hours.
- MASON: [irritably] No real news from the last time you said it twenty minutes ago.
- THEO: [scoffs] I wasn't doubting the plan twenty minutes ago.
- MASON: If you're so concerned, just go. I mean, no one's forcing you to stay here.
[Theo shoots Mason a look]
- THEO: Yeah, and leave you and our army in charge of my survival? Don't think so.
[Mason rolls his eyes, clearly annoyed by Theo's attitude, though unsurprised by this remark]
- MASON: Whatever it takes just to save your own ass and nobody else's.
- THEO: I'm here, aren't I? Maybe I wanna be in the pack.
[This statement offends Mason on a very deep level as he stops walking and stares Theo in the face, making it obvious that the Anuk-ite's fear-inducing powers are making Mason even more angry and offended than he would normally be]
- MASON: Yeah, right! You-you expect me to believe that? A pack is about trust. I mean, the first thing you'd do is figure out a way to kill all of us. And it doesn't matter who forgets-- I won't.
[Mason's fear, paranoia, and distrust continues to grow stronger, and Theo notices that Mason's hand is clutching the handle of Stiles' baseball bat so hard that the grip groans under the pressure and his wrist begins to tremble]
- MASON: I saw Scott's mom. I saw what you did. And as much as I'm terrified of what's down here, I'm way more terrified of turning my back on you!
[Theo is clearly hurt by Mason's words and is surprised to see that his hands are shaking significantly. Mason watches as Theo clenches his hand into a fist and becomes concerned when his golden Chimera eyes and fangs come out with a growl. Mason assumes that Theo plans to attack him, just as he expected, but instead, it is revealed that Theo's true intention was to tackle Mason and get him out of the way before "Aaron," who appeared out of nowhere, could attack him with his own aluminum baseball bat. Theo and Mason fall onto the floor of the tunnels and watch in horror as "Aaron", the vessel for half of the Anuk-ite, prepares to swing at them once again]
BEACON HILLS HIGH SCHOOL[]
[The sun has gone down, and Scott, Liam, and Mrs. Finch, still waiting around in the latter's classroom, freeze when they hear the doors to the main entrance open as a strong gust of wind blows in dead leaves and loose sheets of paper. All of their attention is turned to the door of the classroom as they anticipate Quinn's arrival. Scott and Liam share an anxious look as Mrs. Finch walks toward them]
- MRS. FINCH: That's her, isn't it?
[The expressions on the boys' faces answer her question for her, though it only makes her more worried about what is about to happen]
- MRS. FINCH: Well, what are you planning on doing?
[Liam, frowning in concern, shushes her as he and Scott move closer to the door to investigate]
- LIAM: Shhhh.
[Mrs. Finch clearly has a bad feeling about what is going to happen next and continues to question them in a whispered tone of voice]
- MRS. FINCH: You-you're not going to try to hurt her, are you? That's my daughter.
- LIAM: [grimly] We're gonna do what we have to do.
[Mrs. Finch starts to feel uneasy]
- MRS. FINCH: What exactly does that mean?
- SCOTT: Just stay back.
[Mrs. Finch backs up toward the chalkboard while Scott and Liam move closer to the door. Scott looks over at his Beta as the two get into position]
- SCOTT: Liam?
[Liam nods in confirmation]
- LIAM: Ready.
[The two start bouncing on the ball of their feet, getting themselves amped up for a fight and growling quietly under their breath. Mrs. Finch, terrified that they are going to harm her daughter, anxiously backs up until her back hits the chalkboard. She looks around and suddenly remembers the chalkboard eraser Liam tampered with earlier]
[It sounds as though Quinn is on her way to the classroom when suddenly, Mrs. Finch forcefully waves the chalkboard eraser toward the two young men, tossing the powdered purple wolfsbane in their faces and causing them to fall to the floor in a coughing fit]
- SCOTT: WHOA!
[Scott's eyes blaze red to fight the effects of the wolfsbane as he watches Mrs. Finch run out of the room into the entrance hall. Liam's eyes are squeezed shut as he continues to cough and gag]
BEACON HILLS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL[]
[Malia and Lydia, still undercover in their navy blue nurse's scrubs, stand in the observation room and watch as the the MRI machine begins to revive Halwyn by pulling the bullet out of his brain. After a moment, Malia frowns worriedly]
- MALIA: Something's wrong.
- LYDIA: [concerned] What is it?
[Malia focuses her enhanced hearing on Halwyn's vital signs]
- MALIA: His heartbeat... it's too fast, and erratic.
[Suddenly, Halwyn begins seizing, his muscles spasming painfully as the MRI continues to do its work. Lydia and Malia both look at each other with alarm as Malia anxiously taps Lydia's hand with her own]
- MALIA: Turn it off! Turn it off!
[Lydia wastes no time hitting the buttons on the keyboard in an attempt to turn off the machine]
- MALIA: [urgently] Hurry!
[Though Lydia manages to successfully turn the MRI machine off, it takes a few more moments to fully power down, which is just enough time for it to forcibly yank the bullet out of Halwyn's brain. Halwyn, now conscious, stops seizing and instead roars in pain at the top of his voice, his eyes blazing with fire and his fangs extended from the trauma]
[The power with which the MRI worked has caused a blackout in the hospital, and after a brief moment, the back-up generator kicks in. The girls run into the next room and stare open-mouthed at Halwyn, who has just stood weakly to his feet. It soon becomes obvious that his fire-based healing power is already starting to kick in to heal him of his wounds, as a steam-like aura can be seen around his body. Halwyn turns toward Malia and Lydia and growls under his breath]
- HALWYN: [growls] Where is it?
[He tries to lunge toward them, but ends up getting woozy and falls into them, forcing them to gently lower him to the ground, leaning his back against the wall. Panting for breath, he frowns in confusion]
- HALWYN: What's happening?
[Malia and Lydia share a grim look before Malia speaks up]
- MALIA: The Anuk-ite is destroying our city, that's what's happening. And we need you to tell us how to kill it.
[Halwyn looks overwhelmed by this news, and Lydia's expression is devastated as she tries to get Malia's attention]
- LYDIA: Malia...
[Malia ignores her and continues to question him, knowing that they don't have a lot of time]
- MALIA: Does it have any weaknesses? Is there a weapon that we can use?
- LYDIA: Malia!
[Malia finally stops talking and looks at Lydia, who points to Halwyn's face. They both look alarmed when they see molten silver beginning to pour out of his nose. Halwyn, starting to feel the effects of the poison, turns to them with a demanding expression]
- HALWYN: What did you do to me?
BEACON HILLS HIGH SCHOOL / UNDERGROUND TUNNELS[]
[The scene cuts back and forth between the battle between "Quinn," Mrs. Finch, Scott, and Liam at the high school and the battle between "Aaron," Theo, and Mason in the underground tunnels]
BEACON HILLS HIGH SCHOOL
[Mrs. Finch frantically runs into the entrance hall, where she finds a silent "Quinn" standing in the shadows right in front of the double doors. Mrs. Finch sighs in relief before calling out to her]
- MRS. FINCH: Quinn?
[Mrs. Finch begins to run toward her again, but she soon senses that something is wrong when the Anuk-ite's fear-inducing power begins to affect her more and more as she steps closer, to the point where she eventually can barely move her legs forward, and her hands become severely tremulous. She quickly realizes that Scott and Liam were right, and that the Anuk-ite has taken her daughter's form]
["Quinn" suddenly appears right in front of Mrs. Finch and stares at her with an emotionless expression before speaking to her in a deep, demonic-sounding voice]
- QUINN/ANUK-ITE: [distorted voice] I'm looking for someone. Someone like me.
["Quinn's" eyes begin to glow a bright purple color as Mrs. Finch, devastated, sobs and processes what this means for her and her family]
- MRS. FINCH: You're not my daughter.
["Quinn" growls and raises her clawed hand up in the air to prepare to fight the mother of her vessel before swiping at her]
[After the break, Mrs. Finch has fallen to the floor, where she is applying pressure to the bleeding wound on her neck with one hand and frantically crawling away from "Quinn" with the other as "Quinn" slowly stalks toward her]
- MRS. FINCH: [sobs] You killed her! You killed my daughter! You killed all of them!
["Quinn's" eyes continue to glow purple as she continues to follow her down the hall]
- QUINN/ANUK-ITE: [distorted voice] Tell me who it is.
UNDERGROUND TUNNELS
[The scene cuts to the underground tunnels, where the dust has just settled from the battle with "Aaron," the Anuk-ite's other human half. Mason has fallen onto the floor, and Theo pulls him into a seated position, gripping his shoulders with his hands as he assesses Mason's injuries]
- THEO: You okay?
[Mason, panting as he recovers from the fight, nods in confirmation as he leans back against the wall and tries to catch his breath]
- MASON: Yeah, yeah, I'm fine.
[Steam pours out of a pipe that was broken in the scuffle, causing both of them to sweat profusely. Mason's eyes widen when he realizes "Aaron" is nowhere to be found]
- MASON: Wait, where is he?
- THEO: [frantically] I don't know.
[Suddenly, "Aaron" appears, having picked up Mason's baseball bat that was dropped in the fight. "Aaron" swings the bat, and Theo just barely manages to duck before the bat can make contact with his skull, causing "Aaron" to hit the wall instead]
BEACON HILLS HIGH SCHOOL
["Quinn" has just lifted Mrs. Finch up by the front of the shirt and rears her clawed hand back in preparation to give her the killing blow, her purple eyes glowing even brighter]
UNDERGROUND TUNNELS
[Theo manages to get behind "Aaron" and takes a swipe at him, inflicting gashes on the back of his neck with his claws that causes him to roar in pain]
BEACON HILLS HIGH SCHOOL
["Quinn" also roars in pain and drops Mrs. Finch before she can harm her, instead reaching up to put pressure on the back of her neck, where she has sustained the exact same injuries as "Aaron"]
UNDERGROUND TUNNELS
["Aaron" freezes and listens to the sound of his other half's scream of pain before elbowing Theo in the gut with such force that Theo flies down the tunnel and lands hard on the floor in front of Mason. "Aaron" then sets off to find his other half]
[Once again, Theo rises into a crouching position and pulls Mason into a seated position as well as the latter looks at him in uneasily]
- MASON: What was that?
- THEO: I don't know, but we gotta find him. All right?
[Theo stands to his feet and tries to pull Mason up by the front of his jacket]
- THEO: Get up. I can't leave you.
[Mason, distracted by his attempts to put all of the pieces together and determine what is happening, slides back down onto the floor, causing Theo to let go of him]
- MASON: Wait, wait-- something's happening. We need-we need to figure it out.
[Theo's tone of voice is impatient when he responds]
- THEO: So figure it out!
[Mason groans in pain and closes his eyes as he shakes his head again, still recovering from his injuries at a human pace]
- MASON: I can't...
[Theo, knowing that they need to catch up with "Aaron" while the Anuk-ite is still separated into two halves, looks Mason up and down before getting an idea, He grabs Mason's right wrist with both hands, using one to shove Mason's jacket sleeve up to expose his forearm and the other to make strong physical contact with his skin. Theo closes his eyes and focuses in an attempt to siphon Mason's pain and speed up his recovery, but when nothing happens, he becomes frustrated and looks at Mason with a questioning expression. Mason looks at him tiredly before he speaks]
- MASON: You can't take pain if you don't care.
[Theo looks hurt by this response, and his eyes become wet with tears of frustration]
BEACON HILLS HIGH SCHOOL
["Quinn," still recovering from the sympathetic wounds she sustained through her connection to "Aaron," clutches the gashes on her left shoulder as she ducks into a corner to come up with her next move]
- QUINN/ANUK-ITE: Ow...
[Suddenly, "Quinn" hears footsteps quickly approaching her and decides to run for it, leaving a large bloody smear on the wall from her injuries. Scott and Liam run from around the corner and are horrified to find Mrs. Finch attempting to put pressure on the claw gashes on her neck as she sits on the floor and leans against the trophy case]
[Both young men kneel in front of her to assess her wounds for a short moment before Scott turns to look Liam in the eyes]
- SCOTT: Hey, I'll stay. Go find Quinn.
[Liam's eyes widen in shock as he anxiously protests against this order]
- LIAM: Whoa, whoa-- we need to face her together.
- SCOTT: I can't leave her. Go!
- LIAM: [worriedly] Wh-wh-what if she finds "Aaron" first? How am I supposed to fight both of them?
[Scott, knowing how terrified Liam is about the threat they're facing, looks at him with a reassuring expression]
- SCOTT: Liam, look, man... It's okay to be afraid. Just don't let it stop you, 'kay? You've got this. Go!
[Liam stares at Scott and Mrs. Finch for one last moment before quickly rising to his feet and running out the door to track "Aaron" and "Quinn"]
UNDERGROUND TUNNELS / BEACON HILLS HIGH SCHOOL[]
UNDERGROUND TUNNELS
[Back in the tunnels, "Aaron" is running quickly through the puddles as he tries to track his other half, but after a moment, the trail runs cold. As he stops to figure out his next move, he looks down at the claw gashes on his shoulder from his fight with Theo and suddenly gets an idea, smirking in satisfaction before turning around and running back the same way he came]
[Theo, still kneeling in front of where Mason is sitting on the ground, spots "Aaron" running as fast as he can down the tunnel toward them and rises to his feet so he can get into a defensive stance. Just then, Mason realizes what "Aaron" is trying to do and immediately begins to try to talk him down]
- MASON: Theo... Hey, Theo! Theo, don't fight him! It's what he wants!
[Unfortunately for both of them, "Aaron's" fear-inducing powers cause Theo to ignore him and react from a place of fear, causing him to flick his claws out, extend his fangs, and make his eyes glow gold as he roars as loud as he can. Just as "Aaron" wanted, Theo gets into another fight with him; this time, "Aaron," who still possesses superhuman strength despite being in a "human" body, blocks several of Theo's blows before grabbing him by the wrists and stabbing himself in the abdomen with Theo's own clawed hands]
BEACON HILLS HIGH SCHOOL
[As "Aaron" planned, Quinn sustained the same stab wounds to her abdomen, causing her to roar in pain as she falls to her knees and bleeds onto the linoleum floor. She struggles to stand on her feet and stumbles several times before she's finally able to stagger toward the exit]
UNDERGROUND TUNNELS
["Aaron" yanks Theo's claws out of his stomach and kicks him hard in the abdomen before focusing his hearing on his other half's pained screams, making it easier to track her down]
[Meanwhile, Theo, who was thrown backward into the wall during his fight with "Aaron," groans as he lays on his back on the wet floor. Mason, in a surprising act of kindness, crawls over to him and holds out his hand so that Theo can use it to pull himself into a seated position. The two sit shoulder-to-shoulder as they lean against the back wall and catch their breath]
BEACON HILLS HIGH SCHOOL
[Scott has located a small towel and has returned to kneeling in front of Mrs. Finch, who is fluttering in and out of consciousness, as he uses it to apply pressure to the still-bleeding claw wounds on her neck]
- SCOTT: Hold on, Mrs. Finch. We're gonna get help.
[Mrs. Finch groans in pain but doesn't speak]
- SCOTT: You just-you need to hold on a little bit longer, okay?
[Scott looks at Mrs. Finch's shoulder and notices a black mark under the holes ripped into her sleeve by "Quinn" and frowns, rolling up the sleeve to reveal that she has the Primal's pack symbol (the "horned god," or a circle with a sideways crescent moon on top of it) tattooed on her deltoid. Realizing that Mrs. Finch was lying and truly is a Werewolf, he begins begging her to use her powers to heal]
- SCOTT: Mrs. Finch? Hey, I need you to look at me, okay?
[Mrs. Finch is barely paying attention to what Scott is saying as he continues to plead with her to help herself]
- SCOTT: You have to trigger your healing. You need to shift!
BEACON HILLS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL[]
[Malia and Lydia are still crouched down on the floor in front of Halwyn, who is still bleeding molten silver from his nose. The young women both look devastated and ashamed by what they have done to him]
- LYDIA: I'm sorry... It was the only way to revive you.
[Halwyn chuckles darkly at her]
- HALWYN: Revive me so I can die?
[Malia, determined to make Halwyn's pain and brief resurrection worthwhile, continues to get straight to the point]
- MALIA: No, so you could help us. Tell us how to stop it.
[Halwyn, who is now bleeding silver from his mouth as well, sighs defeatedly]
- HALWYN: You can't stop it. You can't kill it.
- MALIA: But you did...
- HALWYN: I trapped it.
- MALIA: [impatiently] Well, how do we do that?
- HALWYN: Don't let it find its other half.
- LYDIA: How do we know it hasn't found it already?
- HALWYN: [grimly] Because you wouldn't be alive to tell me.
[Halwyn, now determined to give them all the information he has before his time is up, pauses for a moment to catch his breath]
- HALWYN: Keep them apart. It's still weak.
- LYDIA: One of them isn't so weak---it's supernatural.
- HALWYN: [alarmed] A shapeshifter?
- MALIA: [nods] A Werewolf.
- HALWYN: You can't let the two halves merge. If you do, you won't be able to catch it.
[Molten silver begins to bleed from the gunshot wound in his forehead, and he groans in pain as the silver poisoning spreads throughout his body. Malia and Lydia look at each other with guilty expressions, clearly saddened by what they've done]
- LYDIA: We shouldn't have done this. I'm so sorry. I'm sorry.
[Lydia clutches Halwyn's hand, and he squeezes back due in part to the pain caused by the poison. Halwyn, who can tell that his time is running out and has seemingly made peace with his impending death, weakly begins to speak again. Molten silver is now pouring out of both of his ears and his right eye as well as his mouth, nose, and open wounds]
- HALWYN: Okay, listen to me. If it finds its other half... if the two become one... do not look at it.
[Halwyn's eyes start to flicker orange-red with fire as more molten silver runs from his eyes like tears, and he starts gasping for breath]
- HALWYN: You can't. It will kill you with a look.
[Halwyn takes one last rasping breath before his body goes weak, and his hand loses strength and falls out of Lydia's hand. Malia and Lydia both look devastated by what happened to him and their role in it and share a grieving expression]
BEACON HILLS HIGH SCHOOL[]
[Liam has just entered the school library, where he quietly shuts the door behind him. He slowly makes his way into the open room, where he sees "Quinn" standing in front of the large wall of windows with her back turned to him. Her fear-inducing power is clearly affecting him, causing his respirations to become louder and shaky. This sound causes "Quinn" to turn around to face him. Liam slowly walks toward her, murmuring to himself under his breath to help calm him down as he once again begins bouncing on the balls of his feet to psych himself out]
- LIAM: [whispers] Stay afraid... Stay afraid...
[Before Liam can react further, "Aaron" enters the library from the back entrance, and "Quinn," distracted, watches him intently as he walks down the staircase and meets her on the landing. The two stare each other in the eyes for a long moment before silently turning back to face Liam in unison, standing side-by-side with their shoulders and hands nearly touching each other]
[They stare blankly at Liam, who has just flicked out his claws and fangs in order to get into a fighting stance, his eyes glowing bright gold as he roars at the couple]
[Meanwhile, Gabe, carrying a pump-action shotgun, storms through the entrance with two other armed male Hunters. They walk purposefully down the hallway, with only a puddle of smeared mud on the floor as evidence that Scott and Mrs. Finch were there]
[Scott and Mrs. Finch, have relocated to the far corner of another classroom to hide from the Hunters. Scott continues to apply pressure to her neck wounds as Mrs. Finch, delirious from blood loss, the Anuk-ite's powers, and the grief of losing her entire family, begins talking to him in a quiet voice]
- MRS. FINCH: It's my fault. I pushed her away...
[Scott is only concerned with her health and tries to redirect the topic of conversation back to using her Werewolf powers to heal]
- SCOTT: Mrs. Finch, please-- you have to trigger your healing.
[Mrs. Finch ignores him and continues to ramble]
- MRS. FINCH: ...I forced her to run to them. I forced her to hide who she was.
[Scott, frustrated by the level by which Mrs. Finch was in denial of who she is, begins to lose his patience with her]
- SCOTT: Hey-- you need to shift, or you're gonna die. Do you get it? You'll die.
[Mrs. Finch's face falls, and tears fill her eyes]
- MRS. FINCH: Oh, Quinn...
[Scott, knowing her time is running out and desperate to get her to save herself, Scott tries to break through using his last resort-- brutal honesty]
- SCOTT: Mrs. Finch? Hey. Shift, okay? You need to do it right now! Shift! Quinn... She's gone. Your daughter's gone. Quinn is dead.
[Mrs. Finch sobs so hard that it turns into a growl as her head swings up, her eyes glowing a bright crimson, revealing that she was the Alpha of the Primal pack.]
[Back in the library, Liam, still partially transformed, is quickly running and jumping from tabletop to tabletop using his superhuman strength, speed, and agility to lunge toward the two halves of the Anuk-ite, "Aaron" and "Quinn." When Liam reaches the last table, he uses all of his momentum to leap into the air in order to hit the two shapeshifter halves, only for "Quinn" to punch him in the gut with such force that he flies all the way back to the entrance of the library]
["Aaron" and "Quinn" then turn their attention back onto each other, once again intently staring at each other for a long moment before taking a step toward one another. "Quinn" raises her left hand and raises it so that it is cupping the side of "Aaron's" neck, while "Aaron" clasps her hip with his right hand. When the two began kissing, the Anuk-ite's spiders can be seen scurrying in and out of each others' mouths. After several moments, the two pull away from each other, each of them with a smirk on their faces as they continue to grip each other's forearm]
["Aaron" squeezes her arm hard enough that his hand quivered, and though she initially plays it cool, she ultimately head-butts him in the face, revealing that their merging involves one half dominating the other. "Aaron," now furious at the discomfort the blow caused, throws a right cross, which "Quinn" blocked, followed by a right hook to the gut that knocked the wind out of her. She ducks to avoid his second right cross and returns it to him by hitting him right in the jaw. They finally grab each other in a choke-hold, with "Quinn" shoving them into a nearby bookcase. It looked as though "Quinn" had the upper-hand due to her cutting off "Aaron's" airway, but at the last moment, he gathered all the strength he had and used it to snap his other half's neck, killing her instantly]
["Aaron" then kneels behind "Quinn's" body and places his left hand on her face, absorbing all of the rest of the spiders within her. His eyes blaze the same color purple as hers were earlier, and as soon as the spiders flood back into Aaron's mouth, he stands to his feet and starts doubling over in pain as the merging of the Anuk-ite's two halves begins in a cloud of purple and red smoke and light]
[While the Anuk-ite is tucked into an aisle of bookshelves, Liam, still recovering from the fight with "Quinn," uses the nearby check-out desk to pull himself to his feet. He briefly sees the transformation underway before "Aaron" stumbles further away from him in the library. Liam, panting for breath and clearly terrified, tries his best to watch as "Aaron's" body morphs into a very tall and thin humanoid being with what looks like irritated read flayed skin, a sealed mouth, and hollow eye sockets with swirling purple light illuminating the sclera of his eyes]
[The Anuk-ite, sensing Liam's presence, skulks through the aisles of bookshelves toward him. Liam, bracing for another fight, starts to shift again, his golden eyes blazing when suddenly, someone appears behind him and yanks him backward before he can move any further. It's Lydia, who pushes them both out of the library through the double doors and tackles him to the ground. The Anuk-ite hears them and looks around, but isn't able to see them]
[Lydia groans and stands to her feet before pulling Liam up as well and whispering under her breath]
- LYDIA: We have to run!
[Lydia rushes them out of the library and into the school, only for Liam to follow her, clearly confused her plan]
- LIAM: What are you doing? Quinn and Aaron merged. We have to stop them!
[Lydia reveals what she has just learned from Halwyn as she continues leading Liam away from the Anuk-ite]
- LYDIA: You can't!
[The two rush past the adjacent hall where Gabe and the other two Hunters were waiting for them]
- LYDIA: You can't look at it. If you do, it'll kill you!
[Gabe, having heard what Lydia has said, backs up and hides behind the nearby stairwell without a sound. His two cohorts, who are in position several meters in front of him, don't hear him move, and they aim their weapons at the intersection of hallways when they catch the sound of footsteps approaching]
[Sure enough, the Anuk-ite slowly walks toward them, its fear-inducing power causing them to grip their shotguns so tightly that they start to tremble severely. At first, only the glowing of its purple irises can be seen, but when it comes out of the shadows, the sight of the Anuk-ite's eyes, which have now taken the shape of a hazy, swirling pair of purple lights, causes both men to be petrified into stone exactly where they stand. Once they have been completely transformed, they both fall face-first onto the floor with a thud, and Gabe, hyperventilating from fear, looks horrified by the sight of what happened to his fellow Hunters. When he hears the sound of footsteps approaching him, he squeezes his eyes shut and holds his breath so that the Anuk-ite doesn't see him hiding in the dark corner]
[Sometime later, Lydia and Liam have reconvened in the hallway, where Lydia has kneeled onto the floor to touch the statues that used to be human Hunters. All four of them look overwhelmed by this turn of events]
- LIAM: How do we fight something we can't look at?
- LYDIA: I have no idea.
[Suddenly, Scott and Malia appear behind them]
- SCOTT: We have to learn to fight without our eyes.
[Malia looks at Scott incredulously when she realizes where he's going with this]
- MALIA: Fight without seeing? That means...
- LYDIA: [sighs] ...Deucalion
MCCALL HOUSE[]
[Malia is sitting on Scott's bed, frowning anxiously as she looks at a bullet slug in her hands, twirling it in front of her face. After a moment, she hears the faucet turning on and walks into Scott's bathroom to see what he's doing, setting the bullet on his bed before she does so. Scott is scrubbing Mrs. Finch's blood off of his hands with a washcloth when Malia comes up behind him and takes the rag herself so she can help him. Scott smiles bashfully]
- SCOTT: Thank you. I'm kind of a mess.
[Malia wipes at the blood on Scott's neck, chest, and arms from when he helped treat Mrs. Finch's wounds for a few seconds before giving up]
- MALIA: There's too much blood. You should just get in the shower.
- SCOTT: Yeah....
[Scott shrugs and starts to take his shirt off when he realizes that Malia is still standing in the bathroom, watching him intently. He pauses and gives her a look, wondering if she will give him privacy for his shower, but Malia just gives him a look]
- MALIA: You've seen me naked...
[Scott's head tilts to the side, knowing she has a point. He slowly removes his flannel button-up shirt and looks over at Malia, who pulls off her own shirt and stands in front of him, pausing for a moment before removing her bra as well]
[The scene cuts to inside the shower, where both Malia and Scott are naked and holding each other underneath the stream of hot water. She squeezes his arms as he rubs her back with his hands, just before the two begin making out]
BEACON HILLS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL[]
[The hospital is bustling with doctors, nurses, patients, and visitors milling around the hall. A surgeon in light blue scrubs walks out of a patient room, hanging his stethoscope around the back of his neck. He pauses for a moment at the sound of footsteps approaching from behind, just as another doctor is a white lab coat exits a different room and starts walking in the opposite direction, where he is then frozen by fear at the sight of the Anuk-ite. He barely had the time to back away from the creature before he dropped his chart on the floor and petrified into stone. The Anuk-ite continues down the hall, with every person making eye contact with it gasping in horror and freezing into a statue]
[The scene cuts down to the basement, where the Anuk-ite, still wearing "Aaron's" clothing, walks through the double doors to the morgue. He follows his instincts and makes his eyes glow purple as he takes the sheet off of Halwyn's body, staring blankly at the face of the dead Hellhound, taking note of the silver tear tracks on his face. Though he remains silent, he seems angry that the man responsible for locking him up for so long was killed by someone else. Suddenly, a familiar male voice is heard calling out from the doorway]
- GERARD: Not what you were hoping to find?
[The man is Gerard Argent, who already has his back to the Anuk-ite to protect himself from his stare. The normally-stoic Gerard is shaking with fear, revealing that even he is vulnerable to the Anuk-ite's powers of fear inducement]
- GERARD: You'll forgive me for not looking you in the eye while talking. I've heard the stories of how lethal it can be.
[Gerard takes a deep breath and tries to calm himself down in order to survive the conversation]
- GERARD: I know what you want-- you want your freedom. That means getting rid of people like Scott McCall.
[For the first time since the two halves merged, the Anuk-ite speaks in a distorted voice that, due to his lack of a mouth, must be a telepathic form of speech]
- ANUK-ITE: [distorted voice] The Alpha.
- GERARD: That's right. We both know you can't match him in a physical fight. You might be able to kill him with a look, but you'd be surprised at how resourceful he can be.
- ANUK-ITE: [distorted voice] Your offer?
[This response seems to give Gerard enough relief to return to his usual confident demeanor]
- GERARD: I will weaken him for you with the proper poison. Then, you kill him and his friends.
[The Anuk-ite pauses for a moment to think it over, and Gerard uses that time to reel it in]
- GERARD: And that will give you all the fear you need to never be caught again.
[The creature suddenly moves across the room until he is only centimeters from the back of Gerard's head, startling him to the point of jerking away from him]
- ANUK-ITE: [distorted voice] And you?
[Gerard's smug satisfaction starts to come back as he reveals his own plan]
- GERARD: I'll drive every last one of their kind from Beacon Hills.
[Gerard pulls a bullet with the Argent fleur-de-lis stamped on it out from his pocket and holds it up so that the Anuk-ite can see it over his shoulder]
- GERARD: See this? A silver bullet. Every legend has a little truth to it. Isn't that right? The legend is that you need silver to kill a Werewolf.
[Gerard smirks smugly as his voice lowers dramatically]
- GERARD: The truth? You need an Argent.
[Gerard slams the bullet onto the metal counter, and the camera zooms in on the Argent Family symbol]
