Pressure Test is the fifteenth episode of Season 6 and the ninety-fourth episode of Teen Wolf.[1]
Synopsis[]
When Scott and the others struggle to protect two new Werewolves, an unlikely ally joins in the fight.
Plot[]
Theo Raeken and two other Werewolves from Satomi's pack are being tortured via electrocution by the former Eichen House orderly Schrader, whom Theo recognizes. After seeing that the electrical current is melting the zip-ties binding them, Theo purposely baits Schrader into electrocuting them harder so that he can eventually break free. The three tie up Schrader and leave him to be electrocuted while Theo, Jiang, and Tierney debate what to do next, with Theo eventually agreeing to take them to Scott McCall. However, just as they are about to leave in Schrader's car, Sheriff Stilinski and several of his deputies arrive and arrest the three for murder despite Theo's protests.

Continuity[]
- Three new characters are introduced in this episode. The first two are Tierney and Jiang, who are both Werewolves and former members of Satomi's pack who recently killed a Hunter who killed their Alpha, making their Werewolf eyes turn blue. The third is Deputy Dewitte, a new deputy working under Noah Stilinski at the Beacon County Sheriff's Station.
- Alan Deaton appears in this episode. He was last seen in Superposition.
- Theo Raeken appears in this episode. He was last seen in Raw Talent.
- Schrader appears in this episode, revealing that he has joined Tamora and Gerard's Hunter army. He was last seen in Season 5B's Amplification. His fate remains unknown after Theo left him tied up and being continuously electrocuted in Gerard's bunker.
- Rafael McCall appears in this episode. He was last seen in Season 4's Time of Death.
- It is unclear if he and Scott have had any interaction off-screen since their last meeting in Time of Death, nor has it been explicitly confirmed whether or not he has been made aware of the supernatural world since that point, though the latter, at least, seems likely due to the nature of his negotiation between the McCall Pack and their allies and Monroe's Hunters.
- It is established that five days have passed since Scott and Liam found the dead wolf in the woods in Said the Spider to the Fly, indicating that each episode between then and this episode took place over the span of one day.
- It is confirmed that both Gabe and Nolan have been recruited into Monroe and Gerard's army of Hunters. This was first implied to be the case in Face-to-Faceless.
- It is also confirmed that Deputy Vargas has been recruited into the army as well, which was also implied in Face-to-Faceless.
- Satomi Ito is revealed to have been killed by Hunters two days prior to the events of this episode, indicating she died on the same day as her Betas Brett Talbot and Lorilee Rohr in After Images. She was last seen in Season 4's Monstrous and was last mentioned in Season 5's Dreamcatchers and Season 6B's After Images.
- Satomi's Pack is revealed to have a pack symbol in this episode when Tierney and Jiang were seen with tattoos of stacked circles (representing the art of stacking rocks, a Buddhist practice). It was first revealed that Satomi taught her pack this practice in After Images.
Cultural References[]
- Alan Deaton, Mason Hewitt, and Corey Bryant figure out that the new shapeshifter that escaped from the Wild Hunt is known as the Anuk-ite and references the myth of the creature as being called Two Face or Double-Faces. In reality, he is referring to AnĆŗÅg ItĆ©, also known as Anog Ite, a double-faced goddess in Lakota (Native American) mythology who was tricked by Iktomi, a spider-like trickster spirit, to seduce the solar spirit Wi, who had forgotten his wife, the lunar goddess Hanwi. However, when Wi was told the truth about his wife, AnĆŗÅg ItĆ© was punished by having one of her faces turned hideous while the other was left beautiful. AnĆŗÅg ItĆ© was said to be the mother of the Four Winds and the whirlwind Yum and was known for inflicting pain on pregnant women and making babies cry due to the pain of being separated from her own children.
Trivia[]
- This episode was the second part of a two-part episode aired on August 20, 2017, along with the preceding episode Face-to-Faceless, due to the MTV Video Music Awards airing in its time slot on August 27.
- The actress who plays Tierney, Ellery Sprayberry, is the younger sister of Dylan Sprayberry, who plays Liam Dunbar. Interestingly enough, they both play Werewolves, with Liam a golden-eyed bitten Beta of the McCall Pack, and Tierney a newly-blue-eyed Beta of Satomi's Pack.
- It is revealed that a Werewolf's healing ability is strong enough to survive a gunshot to the head in this episode after Quinn is shot by Deputy Vargas, who is secretly a member of Monroe's Army.
- It was later revealed in Genotype that Quinn's identity, appearance, and DNA were stolen by the Anuk-ite. It is unknown if Quinn was still herself when she was shot in the head or if it was the fact that she was half of the Anuk-ite that caused her to survive it. Judging by the heightened fear induced during the events of the episode, it is likely that the Anuk-ite had already taken on Quinn's identity in order to amplify and feed on everyone's fear.
- Nolan is shown to have some kind of history with Jiang in this episode, as they remarked that neither had seen the other in five years. However, though it was briefly referenced in Triggers, the nature of their relationship was never expanded on again.
