ā€œ "All right. The party is in a warehouse just inside the industrial sector. Allison has learned that Jackson Whittemore will be there, seeking his next target out of the crowd. Since we have little clue as to just how strong he is, we need to be extremely cautious. When Allison has the location and has determined him to be at the optimal point where we can take him down, she'll signal me-- "optimal" meaning as far away from the crowd as possible. There will be no collateral damage tonight."
"As willing a participant as she seems, your young protƩgƩe there also appears to be under the impression that we are planning a trap. [...] For the rest of us, let's be perfectly clear. You don't trap a creature this dangerous-- you kill it."
ā€

Raving is the eighth episode of Season 2 and the twentieth episode of Teen Wolf.

Synopsis[]

During a secret concert, Scott and Stiles come up with a method to trap the new shapeshifter. At the same time, Allison's mother comes up with a plan to take care of Scott once and for all.

Plot[]

This episode is missing a written plot. Please review the policies and feel free to add one.

Jackson is commanded by his master to attend a secret rave, where his next target is. Stiles and Sheriff Stilinski realize there is a pattern in the murders: all victims had been in the class of 2006. Stiles's father loses his job because Stiles's irresponsible behavior reflects badly on the county. Scott is attacked by Victoria, who attempts to kill him. Isaac drugs Jackson, and he and Erica join Stiles in interrogating his master, who speaks through him. Jackson transforms, successfully killing his target. Derek saves Scott, biting Victoria in the process.

Main Cast[]

Supporting Cast[]

Guest Cast[]

  • Adam Baaklini as EMT
  • Andrea Laing as Kara Simmons
  • Robert Crayton as Hunter
  • David Elson as Kanima
  • Lauren Henneberg as Raver (uncredited)
  • Eddie Rattanasouk as Raver (uncredited)

Continuity[]

  • The warehouse rave mentioned by Matt Daehler to Allison Argent in Restraint occurs in this episode.
  • This episode marks the second appearance of Mountain Ash, which was used by Stiles under Dr. Deaton's instructions in order to trap the Kanima and his master inside the warehouse during the rave. Mountain Ash was first mentioned by Peter Hale in Code Breaker, when he couldn't pass through the barrier Deaton created in the animal clinic.
  • Scott, Derek, Isaac and Deaton determine that the Kanima's fear of water is actually due to the Kanima's master being afraid of water, a theory that will be proven to be true in Party Guessed.
  • Victoria Argent tries to kill Scott using the same Nordic Blue Monkshood Wolfsbane that Kate Argent used against Derek in Magic Bullet.
  • Victoria is accidentally bitten by Derek during a fight after Derek caught her trying to kill Scott. This makes her the fifth (and last) person Derek has bitten and turned since becoming an Alpha in Code Breaker.
  • Sheriff Stilinski temporarily loses his job in response to Stiles and Scott stealing a police transport van in Restraint.
  • Matt kisses Allison in this episode. He was first implied to have feelings for her in Omega.
  • Chris Argent tells Allison that Hunters do what they do to protect those who cannot protect themselves. In an interesting twist, "We protect those who cannot protect themselves" will become the new Argent Hunter Code in Lunar Ellipse when Allison once again becomes the matriarch of the Argent Family.
    • Additionally, Allison is forced to confess to her father that Jackson is the Kanima, which was first revealed in Venomous.
  • Marin Morrell appears in this episode. She was last seen in Venomous.
    • She also cryptically asks Deaton if the kids know "what is coming." This is foreshadowing the Alpha Pack's introduction in Master Plan.
  • Kara Simmons becomes the fifth victim in the Kanima murders, which began in Shape Shifted.
  • This episode marks the beginning of Isaac and Scott's friendship when Scott tells Isaac he doesn't want him to get hurt.

Trivia[]

  • The title is a reference to the rave where the majority of the action happens in this episode.
  • Deaton holds up a small metal charm while he, Scott, Derek, and Isaac are brainstorming who the Kanima master is. The charm depicts Cernunnos, which is the conventional name for the Horned God in Celtic mythology. Very little is known about Cernunnos, but it is believed that he is a god of nature and/or fertility. This charm may be subtle foreshadowing to the revelation that Deaton is a Celtic Druid that will occur in Season 3.
  • It is revealed that Isaac Lahey had an older brother named Camden, who was the same age as all of the Kanima's victims (with the exception of his father, Mr. Lahey) and was killed in action while serving in the Army in Afghanistan.
