The Tate Ranch is a ranch-style farmhouse in the rural outskirts of Beacon Hills, California that is owned by the Tate Family.
The four members of the family, Henry, his wife Evelyn, their adoptive daughter Malia and their biological daughter Kylie lived in the house together until the early-mid 2000s, when the three women were involved in a car crash caused by an attack by Malia's biological mother Corinne, an assassin known by the code-name the "Desert Wolf." The stress of Corinne's shoot-out and the car crash that followed, in conjunction with the full moon overhead, caused Malia's latent Werecoyote nature (which she inherited from her mother) to be activated, and she fully-shifted into a coyote and mauled her mother and sister to death before disappearing in the woods, where she would live for the next eight years in her animal form.
Evelyn and Kylie's bodies were found by the Beacon County Sheriff's Department, and due to the animalistic appearance of the attack, it was assumed that coyotes fed on their bodies after the crash, and that one of them had dragged Malia's body somewhere else, not knowing that she survived the attack. From then on, Henry lived in the house by himself, leaving the rooms of his daughters completely untouched throughout the years. However, in 2011, when Scott McCall and his pack discovered Malia's supernatural identity and helped her return to her human Werecoyote form, she was reunited with her father, and, after a brief period of time in Eichen House readjusting to humanity, returned to the Tate Ranch, where she continues to live to this day.
In 2012, the house was used by Malia and her friend Braeden, a mercenary, to interrogate a member of the former Soviet Special Forces regarding Corinne's current whereabouts.
The house seems to be situated on a large plot of land, and has a wrap-around porch, at least three bedrooms, a living room, and a dining room.
